Ingredients
2 servings- Komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach)1 bunch
- Garlic2 cloves
- Red chili pepper, sliced into ringsto taste
- ★Sesame oil1 tsp
- ★Sake1+ tbsp
- ★Natural sea saltjust over 1/2 tsp
- ★Coarsely ground black peppera generous amount

Wash 1 bunch of komatsuna and cut it into bite-sized pieces.

Prepare the ★ seasonings and slice 2 garlic cloves.

Heat 1 tsp of sesame oil in a frying pan and stir-fry the garlic slices. Add red chili pepper rings to taste to bring out the aroma.

Add the komatsuna, pour over 1+ tbsp of sake, cover with a lid, and steam-fry over medium heat.

Once the komatsuna is tender, remove the lid. Season with just over 1/2 tsp natural sea salt and a generous amount of coarsely ground black pepper, then gently toss everything together.
Tips
Steam the komatsuna over medium heat while being careful not to overcook it to maintain its vibrant color. Be careful not to over-fry the garlic, and using domestic garlic will enhance the flavor.
