This is my go-to budget-friendly side dish made with bean sprouts — just pop it in the microwave and you've got a super flavorful dish that goes great with rice or as a snack! ♪
Ingredients
2 servings- Bean sprouts1 bag (about 200g)
- Canned tuna1/2 can
- Sesame seeds1 tbsp
- ★Chinese seasoning stock1/2 tbsp
- ★Sesame oil1 tsp
- ★Sugar1/2 tsp
- ★Salta pinch
- ★Black peppera pinch
Directions
10 min- 1
Place washed bean sprouts (1 bag, about 200g) and 1/2 can of drained tuna in a large microwave-safe container. Add the ★ seasonings: 1/2 tbsp Chinese seasoning stock, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1/2 tsp sugar, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of black pepper.
- 2
Cover with plastic wrap and microwave at 600W for 3 minutes.
- 3
After heating, add 1 tbsp sesame seeds and mix well.
- 4
Enjoy warm or chilled - both are delicious and the dish is versatile.
- 5
You can substitute the tuna with shredded chicken breast or fish cake.
- 6
For added texture, mix in dried wakame seaweed after heating to absorb the moisture.
- 7
To double or triple the recipe, adjust the cooking time and stir halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Tips
Lightly drain the tuna oil before using for better balance. The moisture released from the bean sprouts during cooking is flavorful and won't dilute the dish. Since bean sprouts have a short shelf life, consume within 1-2 days.
