Spinach and Bacon Pasta with Umami Flavor

The aroma of garlic will make your mouth water! This Japanese-style pasta with spinach and bacon is the perfect combo and comes together in a flash! ♪

  • Pasta180g
  • Spinach1 bunch
  • Bacon80g
  • Garlic1 clove
  • Salad oil1 tbsp
  • Salt and peppera pinch
  • ★Soy sauce1⅓ tbsp
  • ★Japanese dashi stock powder1 tsp
  • ★Sake1 tbsp
  • ★Water1 tbsp

    Blanch 1 bunch of spinach, then plunge into ice water. Squeeze out the water thoroughly and cut into 5cm lengths.

    Mince 1 clove of garlic and cut 80g of bacon into bite-sized pieces.

    Heat 1 tbsp of salad oil in a frying pan over low heat, add garlic and cook until fragrant.

    Add bacon and stir-fry. Once it changes color, increase the heat to medium.

    Add spinach and pour in the ★ seasonings, then toss everything together.

    Cook 180g of pasta 1 minute less than the package instructions suggest, drain, and add to the frying pan. Stir-fry everything together.

    Season with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste, and it's done!

    The pasta is cooked slightly less to allow it to absorb the sauce better when stir-fried. Adjust the seasoning to account for the saltiness of the bacon.
