This is Mizuna Mama's recipe for chikuwa stuffed with melty cheese and glazed with a sweet and spicy sauce! The combination of gooey cheese and savory-sweet glaze is absolutely delicious! ♪

  • Baby cheese2
  • Oila small amount
  • ★Soy sauce1 tsp
  • ★Mirin1 tsp
  • ★Sugar½ tsp
  • Sesame seedsto taste

    Mix together the ★ seasonings (1 tsp soy sauce, 1 tsp mirin, and ½ tsp sugar) in a bowl.

    Cut the 4 chikuwa in half lengthwise, and cut the 2 baby cheeses into 4 pieces.

    Stuff the cheese pieces into the chikuwa holes and shape them evenly.

    Heat a small amount of oil in a frying pan over low heat and cook the chikuwa until lightly browned on the surface.

    Add the ★ seasonings and roll the chikuwa occasionally to coat evenly with the glaze. Be careful of oil splattering when adding the seasonings.

    Sprinkle sesame seeds to taste on top and serve.

Tips
