Sweet Potato Galette with Melty Cheese

  • Yotsuba salted butter15g
  • ★Potato starch2 tbsp

    Cut 300g of sweet potato into thin matchsticks and place them in a large bowl.

    Add the ★ seasonings and mix everything together well.

    Heat a frying pan over medium heat and melt 15g of Yotsuba salted butter.

    Spread half of the sweet potato mixture in the pan and arrange it into a round shape with even thickness.

    Sprinkle 65g or more of Yotsuba Hokkaido Tokachi 3-Cheese Blend in the center, then spread the remaining sweet potato mixture evenly on top.

    Cover the pan with a lid, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook for 5 minutes.

    Gently press the surface with a spatula to set the shape, flip it over carefully, and cook for another 5 minutes.

    Once both sides are golden brown, transfer to a plate and sprinkle with black sesame seeds to finish.

Tips

Do not soak the sweet potato in water—keeping the starch helps it bind together better. If flipping with a spatula is difficult, use the pan lid to slide and move the galette carefully to avoid breaking it.
