Pepper Rice Cooked on a Hot Plate

This hearty pepper rice is cooked right on a hot plate, just like Pepper Lunch! The butter and black pepper make it absolutely irresistible - so delicious!

  • ○Thinly sliced beef300g (adjust to taste)
  • ○Minced garlic1 clove
  • ○Soy sauce1 tbsp
  • ○Sake1 tbsp
  • ○Herb salt (garlic flavor)6 dashes
  • Canned corn80g or to taste (1 can used in this recipe)
  • Butter10g
  • Oil1 tbsp
  • Black pepperto taste
  • Italian parsley or green onion for garnishto taste

    In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef (300g), minced garlic (1 clove), soy sauce (1 tbsp), sake (1 tbsp), and herb salt (6 dashes). Mix well to marinate.

    Preheat the hot plate to 230°C.

    Spread the cooked rice (2 cups) in the center of the hot plate and arrange the marinated beef around it.

    Scatter the canned corn (80g) over the rice and place the butter (10g) on top.

    Evenly drizzle the ★ seasonings over the rice.

    Mix everything together and heat until the beef is cooked through.

    If you want crispy browned rice, keep cooking without stirring until it reaches your desired color. If you prefer it without browning, you can stop heating once the beef is cooked.

    Finish by sprinkling black pepper to taste and garnishing with Italian parsley or green onion.

Tips

Western-style rice is recommended for this dish, but regular white rice works well too. When eating with family, you can make it fun by having everyone help with the finishing touches after the prep is done. When eating alone, it's a good idea to prepare your drink while the rice is cooking. If you don't have a hot plate, you can use a frying pan as a substitute.
