Clay pot rice is surprisingly easy, quick, and absolutely delicious! This foolproof method will have you making perfect rice every time! ♪
Ingredients
2 servings- Rice2 cups (360 cc)
- Water430 cc (approximately 1.2 times the volume of rice)
Directions
25 min- 1
Rinse 2 cups (360 cc) of rice and soak it in water for about 30 minutes to allow it to absorb water. You only need enough water to cover the rice initially.
- 2
After soaking the rice, drain the water completely and transfer the rice to a colander to remove excess moisture.
- 3
Pour the measured 430 cc of water into the clay pot, add the rice, and cover with the lid. Using cold water will give you the best results.
- 4
Start with high heat to bring the water to a boil, then reduce to medium heat and cook for 5 minutes.
- 5
After 5 minutes, reduce heat to the lowest setting for 4 minutes. Then, turn the heat back to high for 3-5 seconds.
- 6
Finally, let the rice rest for 10 minutes off the heat. After resting, gently stir the rice top and bottom and it's ready to serve.
- 7
The key to perfect rice is adjusting the heat in this order: boil on high heat → 5 minutes on medium heat → 4 minutes on low heat → high heat for a few seconds.
Tips
Note that 1 cup of rice equals 180 cc, and measuring cups may vary in capacity. For your first time, we recommend adding 1-2 extra tbsp of water to test.
