Steamed Edamame in 5 Minutes - Umami-Packed

Instead of boiling in a full pot of water, you steam-cook them with just 50ml of water to lock in all that natural sweetness — a trick straight from an edamame farmer! 🌿

Ingredients

  • Edamame250-500g
  • Salt for washing1 tbsp
  • Water50cc
  • Salt for boiling2-3 tsp
  • Salt for finishinga pinch

    Place 250-500g of edamame in a bowl and rub with 1 tbsp of salt for washing to remove fine hairs and dirt.

    Rinse lightly with water to remove any remaining dirt.

    Transfer the edamame to a frying pan, sprinkle 2-3 tsp of salt evenly over them, add 50cc of water, cover with a lid, and heat over medium heat for 5 minutes.

    After 5 minutes, drain in a colander and let cool slightly, then sprinkle with a pinch of finishing salt to taste and serve.

Tips

No need to boil water first—you can enjoy them in a flash! Steaming with minimal water concentrates all the delicious flavor.
