Authentic Oden-Style Broth (Simple Dipping Sauce)

You can make that rich, umami-packed oden broth just like convenience stores at home! Simple ingredients but incredibly authentic taste - it's amazing!

  • ★Salt1 tsp
  • ★Dashi stock powder2 tsp
  • ★Sugar1 tsp
  • ★Soy sauce3 tsp

    Place 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp dashi stock powder, 1 tsp sugar, and 3 tsp soy sauce in a container and mix well. (Adding them in order makes it easy to measure with a single measuring spoon)

    Pour 800-900 cc water into a pot and bring to a boil over heat.

    Once boiling, add the ★ seasonings from step 1 and stir well to dissolve. Your broth is ready!

Tips

Using dashi stock powder generously and drawing out its umami is key to creating a rich, flavorful broth just like authentic oden.
