Ingredients
2 servings- Thick fried tofu (atsuage)1 package (about 2 pieces, 8×8cm each)
- Konnyaku1 block (about 250g)
- Seven-spice chili powder or chili powderoptional, to taste
- Green onion (sliced)to taste
- ★Miso1.5 tbsp
- ★Sugar2 tbsp
- ★Sake1 tbsp
- ★Soy sauce0.5 tbsp
- ★Mentsuyu (3x concentrate)1 tsp
- ★Mirin1.5 tbsp (or 1 tbsp)
- ★Water50 cc

Tear the konnyaku (about 250g) into bite-sized pieces using a spoon.

Cut the thick fried tofu into easy-to-eat sizes.

Heat a frying pan and stir-fry the konnyaku until it makes a squeaky sound.

Add the thick fried tofu to the pan with the konnyaku, then add the ★ seasonings.

Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, and simmer for about 5 minutes (you can add seven-spice chili powder at this point if desired).

When almost all the cooking liquid has evaporated, remove from heat. Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with seven-spice chili powder (or chili powder) to taste, and top with sliced green onion to serve.
Tips
The flavor will vary depending on the type of miso used. Adjust to your preference using rice miso, barley miso, or other varieties you prefer, tasting as you go.
