These mummy sausages are perfect for Halloween! Just wrap them in strips of cheese and they look super cute — so easy and fun to make! 🎃
Ingredients
1 servings- Sausages (wiener)2
- Sliced cheese1–2 slices
- Nori (dried seaweed)a pinch
Directions
10 min- 1
Boil 2 sausages, then set aside to cool until they are just slightly warm.
- 2
Cut 1–2 slices of cheese into 3–4mm wide strips. Use a small round cutter to punch out two small circles for the eyes. Cut small rounds from a piece of nori and place them on top of the cheese circles to make the pupils.
- 3
To make the cheese easier to wrap without tearing, cut it while still on the film and let it sit at room temperature for 2–3 minutes before using.
- 4
While the sausages are still slightly warm, place the eyes on each sausage, then wrap the cut cheese strips around each sausage in a spiral pattern.
- 5
When wrapping, make sure to partially cover the eyes with the cheese strips to give the look of a mummy.
- 6
After wrapping, gently press the cheese with your fingers to help it stick securely.
- 7
Arrange the mummy sausages in a bento box, on a pizza, or in a hot dog for a fun Halloween presentation!
Tips
Wrapping the cheese around the sausages while they are still slightly warm helps the cheese adhere better. Cheese straight from the fridge tends to crack, so let it rest at room temperature for 2–3 minutes before wrapping. Partially covering the eyes with the cheese strips will give your mummies a more authentic look.
