    Pour water about 1 cm deep into a pot or frying pan, add eggs, cover with a lid, and heat.

    Once the water boils, cook on medium heat for 5 minutes, then turn off the heat and let sit for 3 minutes.

    Normally you'd place them in cold water, but with this method the shells peel off smoothly even while still hot.

Tips

Gently shake the frying pan to help the yolk settle in the center for a neater appearance.
