Fluffy Sweet Simmered Sweet Potato

This sweet potato simmering is so fluffy and melts in your mouth! The gentle sweetness from honey and mirin makes it absolutely delicious♪

  • Sweet potato1 medium (300g)
  • Water300 ml
  • ★Brown sugar (or cane sugar)2 tbsp
  • ★Honey1 tbsp
  • ★Mirin3 tbsp

    Wash the sweet potato thoroughly, cut into 1 cm thick rounds, and soak in water (not included in measurements) for 20-30 minutes to remove excess starch.

    Place the sweet potato and 300 ml water in a pot, ensuring the sweet potato is completely submerged.

    Heat over low to medium heat and simmer for approximately 5 minutes.

    Add the ★ seasonings and mix well throughout.

    Place a drop lid on top and simmer over low heat until the broth reduces and the sweet potato becomes tender and melts.

    Once the sauce is well coated, remove from heat and serve.

Tips

You can also use brown sugar in place of honey for equally delicious results.
