This easy ketchup-based meat sauce is so versatile! Perfect for pasta, omurice, and so much more. You'll love how simple it is to make!
Ingredients
3 servings- Ground meat200g-250g
- Onion1
- Carrot1 small
- Olive oil1 tbsp
- ★Ketchup150cc-
- ★Water100cc-
- ★Worcestershire sauce2-3 tbsp
- ★Sugar1 tsp
- Salt and pepperto taste
Directions
25 min- 1
Finely mince 1 onion and 1 small carrot. Since carrot takes longer to cook, chop it as finely as possible for even cooking.
- 2
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a pot and sauté 200g-250g ground meat. Once the meat changes color, sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste, then add the minced vegetables and stir-fry. Cook until the onion becomes translucent.
- 3
Add the ★ seasonings and mix well. Cover the pot and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally.
- 4
After about 10 minutes of simmering, the sauce will thicken and the vegetables will become tender. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to finish.
- 5
If the sauce lacks thickness, remove the lid and simmer while stirring until it reaches the desired consistency.
- 6
If the sauce has reduced too much, mix ketchup and water in a 1:1 ratio and add it back to the pot. Simmer again and adjust the seasoning with salt, pepper, or Worcestershire sauce.
Tips
You can use beef, pork, chicken, or any ground meat of your preference. Be careful with the heat—use medium to low heat and simmer gently to avoid the sauce splattering and to achieve a stable, consistent result.
