Fresh Octopus Carpaccio Italian-Style

This is shokenMom's hall of fame recipe! Octopus arranged Italian-style - it's the perfect pairing with wine and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

  • Boiled octopusabout 150g
  • Red onion (or regular onion)1/2
  • ★Olive oil3 tbsp
  • ★Lemon juice1 tbsp
  • ★Salt and black peppera pinch
  • ★Grated garlic1/3 tsp
  • Minced parsley (or dried parsley)to taste

    Thinly slice half a red onion, soak in water, then pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.

    Slice the boiled octopus (about 150g) at a 2mm angle.

    Arrange the red onion on a plate and place the octopus on top.

    Mix together the ★ seasonings: 3 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp lemon juice, a pinch of salt and black pepper, and 1/3 tsp grated garlic. Pour the dressing over the octopus.

    Top with minced parsley to taste, chill in the refrigerator, and serve.

Tips

You can substitute regular onion if red onion is unavailable. Adjust the ★ salt and ★ black pepper to taste according to your preference.
