With just 2 seasonings, this amazing inari sushi lets out the most delicious juicy broth when you bite into it! It's so good, watch out for eating too much! ♡
Ingredients
4 servings- Fried tofu pouches (agemono)8 pieces
- Sushi rice1.5 cup
- ★Water200 ml
- ★Sugar5 tbsp
- ★Soy sauce3 tbsp
Directions
35 min- 1
Cut 8 fried tofu pouches to your preferred size and carefully open them without breaking the shape.
- 2
Arrange the tofu pouches on a colander and pour about 1 liter of hot water over them to remove excess oil.
- 3
Place 200 ml water and the tofu pouches in a pot and bring to a boil over heat.
- 4
Add 5 tbsp sugar and 3 tbsp soy sauce, then simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes until reduced.
- 5
Remove from heat, cover the pot with a lid, and let cool completely to allow the flavors to blend.
- 6
Prepare 1.5 cup of sushi rice using your preferred method and let it cool.
- 7
Gently squeeze the cooled tofu pouches and fill them with sushi rice until the broth stops dripping—done!
Tips
The key to adding depth is not over-removing the oil. Since the tofu pouches are delicate, avoid stirring with cooking chopsticks. Gently squeeze them to preserve that satisfying juicy texture when the broth oozes out. Don't overstuff them either.
