Creamy Shrimp Macaroni Gratin with Melted Cheese

  • Onion1/2
  • Shrimp (peeled)120g
  • All-purpose flour2 tbsp
  • Milk480ml
  • Consomé (granulated)2 tsp (or 1 cube)
  • Macaroni50g
  • Salt and peppera pinch
  • Melting cheeseto taste
  • Parsley (for topping)a pinch

    Melt 25g butter in a frying pan over medium heat and sauté 1/2 onion and 120g peeled shrimp.

    Remove from heat and add 2 tbsp all-purpose flour, mixing well.

    Return to low heat and gradually add 480ml milk in 3 portions while stirring constantly to achieve a smooth, creamy sauce.

    Add the cooked 50g macaroni, 2 tsp consomé (or 1 cube), salt and pepper, and heat over medium heat for 2-3 minutes while stirring.

    Transfer to an oven-safe dish and top with melting cheese to taste.

    Bake in a toaster oven for 5-10 minutes, or in an oven preheated to 250°C for about 10 minutes, until the surface is golden brown.
